REV Awarding Member Association
vdp is a REV awarding member association.
The association has the right to award Recognised European Valuer status (designated by the letters REV™) to its members.
Brief History and Role
In June 2005, the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) succeeded the Association of German Motgage Banks (VDH). The VDP currently comprises 36 German Pfandbrief Banks. It is based in Berlin with an additional office in Brussels, and a liaison office in Tokyo. For addresses, please check our contacts page.
Its member institutions are among the nation's most important providers of capital for residential and commercial property as well as for the public sector and its institutions.
Principal Activities
The purpose of the Association, according to its statutes, is to:
* safeguard the rights and interests of its member institutions, including PR work, in the field of capital market, housing, real estate and fiscal policy as well as in legal aspects;
* to support and advise the legislative bodies and authorities at a national, European and international level in all matters affecting the mortgage business;
* to safeguard the interests of the Pfandbrief banks vis-à-vis national, European and international professional associations.
Principal Areas of Policy
Residential and commercial mortgage lending, real estate economics, property valuation, lending to public authorities.
