The Association was founded in Rome on the 13th of December 2000 and has been a full TEGoVA member since May of 2001.

Geo.Val.Esperti is also a member of the Scientific Committee of Tecnoborsa, a non-profit, joint-stock consortium controlled by the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Artisans and Agriculture.

The Association is driven by its Statute, its Code of Ethics and its technical organization to regroup all Geometri (Italian Surveyors) who have chosen to specialise in property valuation.

Geo.Val.Esperti’s principal role is to maximize the competence and experience of Surveyors in the valuation profession and promote the professional category

Our principal activities are:

• Organising and promoting valuation training courses, both intermediate and advanced
• Studying and researching topics of interest in the valuation field
• Promoting cultural exchanges and publication opportunities
• Promoting the professional position of Expert Valuation Surveyors in both the public and private sector, while encouraging ISO 17024 accredited certification of its member for further international integration and a higher degree of specialisation
• Creating a Register of its Valuation Expert members to endorse their services towards all interested parties

Anyone who has a valid registration in a provincial Italian Surveyor chapter and has professional experience in the field of property valuation can request membership in Geo.Val.Esperti.

Geo.Val.Esperti was the first association in Italy to translate the 2003 International Valuation Standards which was a vital step in closing the cultural gap between valuation practices in a integrated European market. Again in 2008 the Association, alongside the Italian National Council of Surveyors (CNGeGL) updated its translation to reflect the changes in the 8th edition of the 2007 Standards.

Furthermore, the publication in 2005 of “STIME IMMOBILIARI” by Professor Marco Simonotti, FRICS (University of Palermo) is another example of the dedication of the Association and the Italian National Council of Surveryors towards the professional development of its members.
