Brief History and Role

The Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) was founded in 1910 to present, qualify and brief agricultural valuers. Its members act and advise all those involved in agricultural and rural property matters, whether owners tenants, landlords, public bodies, conservation organisations or otherwise, with work from estate management to livestock markets, compulsory purchase to taxation valuations, farm business structures to diversification, and many other professional specialities.

It plays a leading role in discussions with government on proposed legislative changes, publishes technical papers on valuation topics and supports best professional practice.

Principal Activities

With an annual national conference, there are also other conferences as required and the 27 local associations hold a range of meetings to suit their members.
