Brief History and Role
The Kosovo Appraisers Association (KAA) was formed in August 2009 to establish appraisal standards, prepare individuals through education for an examination to secure a license and increase the overall level of professionalism in the appraisal sector in the country.
Principal Activities
Establishment of valuation standards for Kosovo, rules and regulations to control the licensing, and education of individuals to become valuers by passing an examination to secure a license and then provide continuing education for retention of licenses. We will also work with local universities to establish a faculty in real estate and appraisal.
Principal Areas of Policy
The KAA will concentrate on increasing the educational standards and professionalism of the sector as it is developed in the country.
Organisation
The KAA is a NGO not-for-profit association which will be governed by its members. Initial costs of organizing the KAA have been paid by individuals.
Membership
Individuals who wish to become licensed appraisers. The membership will also include those with licenses and students who are studying to become professional valuers. We will also have corporate sponsors and NGO members who support the work within the sector.
