Brief History & Role

We are a company working since 63 years in the ship evaluation business for German and non-German customers, mainly banks. Our company works closely with and for many ship financing banks. In addition we operate as independent technical consultants for these banks as well as for several national and international shipping companies, ship owners, KG houses and underwriters. As independent marine experts and valuators our company provides market valuations for new buildings and second hand vessels. I am public appointed and sworn by the chamber of commerce Hamburg as ship appraiser.
In beginning of 2009 IngenieurbĂĽro Weselmann GmbH developed in cooperation with shipbrokers, banks, issuing houses and appraisers the "Hamburg Ship Evaluation Standards (HSES). The aim was to offer an alternative for distressed market situations. The Long Term Asset Value (LTAV) is based on long term and sustainable return of the investment based on the procedure of Discounted Cash Flow.
Furthermore I give lectures about ship valuation and different maritime themes for ship financing banks and for the Hamburg School of Shipping.
